Show Info

Spectacle Show!

I am currently in a show at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco.  Opening night was a huge success and it was all very exciting.  This is my first big show in SF.  It is a group show and my work is hanging next to some amazing artists: Emily Burns, Jaxon Northon, Monty Guy, Ben Walker, and Nicomi Nix Turner.  All of my caricature oil paintings from my previous post are hanging in the show.  You can read all about my work on these three websites:

Vector Art

Just started a vector class in school and I am really digging it!

Just a quick character i pulled out of my sketchbook to "vectorize" during class.

finished my second assignment for my vector class.  I had a lot of fun doing these!  I think i'm really getting the hang of vector.

My first assignment, in the spirit of Halloween, was a monster portrait.  This, of course, is a pig guard from Jaba the Hutt's lair in Star Wars. enjoy

Caricatures: Oil and Watercolor
I just recently started trying my hand at caricatures, and I think they are a lot of fun.  I really enjoy looking at a person and taking the first thing I notice about them and exaggerating it.

Jean Reno as Leon the Professional before background

Chris Hemsworth as Thor in The Avengers
Ben Stiller in Tropic Thunder before background
Ben Stiller finished with background Ink & watercolor
Manny Pacquiao  Ink drawing
 Finished watercolor Pacquiao
 Ink drawing self portrait
WIP oil Chevy Chase from Caddyshack
 Finished Chevy Chase
Just starting out on David Bowie from The Labyrinth

Put some background in and finished the blond portion of the hair
Finished, man that hair took forever
Watercolor
Watercolor is the newest medium I've picked up and and i really enjoy it.  Watercolor involves a lot of planning as well as knowledge about how each pigment works.  I never knew that some pigments create different textures.  I tend to layer my paintings with very thin washes, building them up to a textured finished look.
